Last night the UK prOOH industry met on mass for the inaugural PPSC mixer
The streets of Soho were crowded with the great and good from the prOOH industry last night for the first prOOH Practitioners Social Club mixer. Massive thanks to all who attended, from the O.G. stalwarts to those just dipping their toes into the channel it was great to meet up and share our experiences.
Almost 30 people joined the festivities with representation from JCDecaux, Global, ECN, Clear Channel, VIOOH, DAX, Vistar/Sage&Archer, Hivestack, Tap Tap, Talon & Storeboost amongst others. Massive thanks to Nicola Fox and Matt Smith for their contributions to the organising Committee.
This feels like a moment where it's worth reflecting on where the PPSC started and how we have gotten to where we are.
Six years ago there were only posters and screens....and then programmatic OOH launched in the UK with VIOOH, Vistar and Scoota leading the charge. At that point you could count the number of prOOH Practitioners on just one hand. Flash forwards five and a half years and I was sitting in a prOOH event looking around at over 100 people! Some of who I knew but many I didn't, all with an opinion on this once new channel...we were not alone!
Later that week I was sharing my ambition to turn this growth into a community with my trusted and sympathetic industry colleagues who met my obvious genius with a cry of "Not another WhattsApp group!" And so, suitably goaded, I started the PPSC website....ever so slightly just to prove a point.
In just a few short months we have grown the community to over a hundred members and had our first event. I couldn't be more proud of the amazing people joining us on the journey to make this all happen.
And now, my call to action: WE NEED YOU!
To share the PPSC with your industry colleagues
To let us know what we should do next
To write an article for the website (NO SALES PITCHES)
To get stuck in and make this community the best it can be
If you haven't signed up yet then please join for free and become part of the community.
